Jump Higher. Aim Higher. Sports Power Infrastructure Connects Athletes to Manufacturing Careers

What if one jump could open the door to a future career?

That's the idea behind the Sports Power Infrastructure™ Vertical Jump Challenge, bringing athletic competition, workforce development, and career exploration together during National Manufacturing Month.

On October 20, 2026, approximately 600 registered students gathered at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, New York, to explore opportunities in manufacturing, energy, and advanced technologies.

Industry and education partners introduced students to emerging careers, hands-on training, and the skills needed to power America's industrial future.

Turning Athletic Skills Into Career Opportunities

Sports Power Infrastructure™, alongside the Institute for Workforce Advancement (IWA), brought a different kind of energy to the event.

The Vertical Jump Challenge invited students to test their athletic abilities, compete for a $100 digital gift card, and discover how speed, strength, discipline, and determination translate into real-world career skills.

The response was electric.

Students gathered to compete, cheer each other on, and demonstrate impressive athletic abilities, with reported standing jump reaches exceeding 10 feet.

But the competition represented something bigger.

Athletic skills. Real careers. Stronger communities.

Through its Athletes Make The Best™ initiative, Sports Power Infrastructure connects athletic talent with workforce training, business opportunities, and careers across infrastructure industries.

The Next Jump Is October 26

The challenge continues Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York.

Participants receive two attempts to record their best vertical jump. The winner will be announced at 5 PM that day.

Two attempts. One winner. Unlimited potential.

Because the game is only the beginning. Your next opportunity starts with one jump.
