Brooklyn,NY — Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation (CBEDC) has entered into a licensing agreement with Sports Power Infrastructure™ (SPI), a workforce and supplier development platform, to deliver innovative workforce and supplier solutions—using the power of sports and entertainment—at The B’Ville Hub. Planned to open in late 2026, The B’Ville Hub will be a new community center operated by CBEDC within the transformative Glenmore Manor at Brownsville Site B redevelopment.
The partnership will bring SPI’s professional development and data intelligence tools, including the Sports Power Rankings™, to Brooklyn youth and adults. These tools create new ways for residents to learn, engage, and benefit from both legacy and emerging infrastructure industries such as energy, manufacturing, broadband, defense, transportation, and construction.
As a licensed Sports Power Infrastructure™ Partner, CBEDC will operate SPI-certified, sports-powered education, career, and business-focused camps, clinics, and combines across Brooklyn.
These programs will:
- Provide career readiness data through the Sports Power Rankings™, a verified profile measuring athletic performance, leadership, communication skills, and workforce readiness—guiding participants into customized industry pathways.
- Build knowledge of local and domestic content requirements, empowering residents and businesses to shape infrastructure development.
- Expand CBEDC’s services within NYC schools and NYCHA communitie
Sports Power Infrastructure™ programs consistently achieve a 70–90% industry discovery rate—showing that most participants had never considered careers in these sectors before their SPI experience.
“La’Shawn Allen-Muhammad, Executive Director of CBEDC, said: ‘By combining SPI’s innovative workforce and supplier platform with our decades of experience, we are ensuring that local residents and small businesses are positioned to take full advantage of Brooklyn’s and New York City’s infrastructure industries.’
“CBEDC has been a leader in economic mobility across NYC and in national thought leadership. Weare excited to combine our expertise to expand these services,” added Tenicka Chaney, Senior Director of Sports and Entertainment for LocalContent.com, which operates Sports Power Infrastructure™. “Together, we’re not just building careers—we’re building pathways to address affordability and prosperity for every resident in Brooklyn.”
The B’Ville Hub
Located at 97Glenmore Avenue, The B’Ville Hub anchors the 230-unit Glenmore Manor affordable housing project, designed by think! architecture and design pllc. Beyond housing, the Hub will feature CBEDC’s headquarters, a Brooklyn cooperative credit union, salon and esthetician training programs, a public radio station, and small business incubator spaces.
The Hub will also host trade shows for small businesses to explore new green materials and technologies to rebuild local infrastructure. Once fully operational, it is expected to serve more than 2,000–3,000 residents annually, becoming a powerful anchor for community opportunity.
Glenmore Manor is projected to complete construction in Spring 2026. The B’Ville Hub is currently in a $3 million capital campaign to build out its remaining 10,000 sq. ft.
